Vicki Flynn, 71 of Sioux Falls and formerly of Wakonda, died Monday, November 13, 2023 at her home from natural causes. Funeral services will be at 10:00am Friday, November 17, 2023 at Heritage Funeral Home, 57th and Minnesota, Sioux Falls with burial at Rosehill Cemetery, Parker. Visitation will be from 5-7pm Thursday at the Heritage Funeral Home. In Lieu of Flowers, memorials may be made to the Feeding South Dakota Backpack Program. Arrangements by Hofmeister Jones Funeral Home. Vicki Lynn Flynn was born on June 9, 1952 at Sioux Falls, SD to Robert and Jean (Wrage) Clikeman. She grew up at Parker where she attended Parker High School before receiving her teaching degree from the University of South Dakota in Vermillion. On November 8, 1969 she was united in marriage to Ronald J. Flynn her high school sweetheart. To this union were born three children, Laurie Larson, Becky (Kyle) Jensen and Joe (Val) Flynn and 9 grandchildren: Mariah, Kyle and Carter Larson; Jake, Brooke and Luke Jensen; and Traysen, Mya and Bentley Flynn. They lived in Lennox before moving to Wakonda where after her family was raised she taught 6th grade for many years. They lived in Akron, IA and Essex, IA for a few years before moving to Sioux Falls in 2012. She was preceded in death by her husband Ron in 2019, her parents Bob and Jean Clikeman, her mother and father-in-law, LaVerne and Deloris Flynn, brothers in law, Mike and Jerry, and a sister in law, Laurie in infancy. Grateful for having shared her life are her 3 children, Laurie Larson, Vermillion, Becky (Kyle) Jensen, Meckling, and Joe (Val) Flynn, Sioux Falls; 9 grandchildren, Mariah, Kyle, Carter, Jake, Brooke, Luke, Traysen, Mya and Bentley; her sister Kay (Dave) Dieren, Sioux Falls; her brother Jim (Lori) Clikeman, Gillette, WY; 3 sister in laws, Patty (Bob) Stapleton, Omaha, NE, Jeanie (Garland) Marso, Valley Springs, SD, and Rita (Dan) Shaheen, Grand Rapids, MI; a brother in law, Kelly (Barb) Flynn, Fremont, NE; and at last count 26 nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
