Maryann De Boer, 76 of Monroe, passed away on February 13, 2019 at the Bethany Home in Brandon. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, February 16, 2019 at the Calvary Reformed Church in Monroe. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM Friday, February 15, 2019 at Hofmeister-Jones Funeral Home in Parker. Maryann Pearl Miller De Boer was born on January 26, 1943 in rural McCook County, SD to Willard and Mary (Konda) Miller. She grew up Monroe where she graduated from Monroe High School in 1962. She met Melvin De Boer and was united in marriage in January 1964 in South Holland, Illinois. They both worked for Whiting Corporation for 10 years. During that time, they were blessed with two sons, Mark and Mike. They moved back to Monroe in 1970 and over the years she had been employed at the Nickel Spot in Sioux Falls, Stanley Corner, and for over 20 years at the Monroe Snack Shop. They enjoyed fishing with their friends Marlo and Julaine Wieman and Wayne and Sheryl Wieman at West Wittlock Bay on the Missouri River. Over the years she took many bus trips with her friend Alberta, especially enjoying going to Nashville, Tennessee and Branson, Missouri. For the past five years she has been a resident of the Bethany Home in Brandon. Grateful for having shared her life are 2 sons, Mark (Maura), Hot Springs, SD and Mike (Deb), Sioux Falls; 6 grandchildren, Michael and Sean De Boer, Hot Springs, SD, Alex Peterson, Sioux Falls, Justina (Matt Seibel) Koob, Sioux Falls, Holly (Tom) Drummond, Rochester, MN, and Matthew Pueppke, Brandon; 2 great grandchildren, Maya and James; and 2 brothers, Jim (Sandy), Monroe and Ray, Sioux Falls. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Melvin in 2015, and a brother Russell.
