Dennis Kenobbie, 80, of Parkston, SD, has passed away, leaving behind a family and community who loved him dearly.

Born in 1945, Dennis began a life that would touch many along the way.

Dennis spent his working life as ['over the road truck driver for several different companies'] — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew him best.

Dennis carried decades of memory, and now those memories pass to us.

Dennis Kenobbie, 80 of Parkston and formerly of Hurley, died Saturday, June 14, 2025 at his home under hospice care. Visitation will be at the Hofmeister Jones Funeral Home in Parker on Monday, June 16, 2025 from 5-7pm and on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 from 5-7pm with burial at a later date at the Hurley Cemetery, Hurley.Dennis Ralph Kenobbie was born on April 30, 1945 at Chamberlain, SD to Ralph and Carol (Hickey) Kenobbie. When he was a child the family moved to Sioux Falls where he attended school. On May 7, 1965 he was united in marriage to Rita Paetow at St. Joseph's Cathedral in Sioux Falls. Over the years he worked as an over the road truck driver for several different companies, having drove gravel truck for Rechnagel Construction for 12 years. They lived in Hurley, Platte and for the past 7 years in Parkston. While in Platte he took care of the Five Mile Campground for many years. Dennis was a avid outdoorsman and his two greatest loves was hunting and fishing.Grateful for having shared his life are his wife Rita and a sister, Jody Nelson of Yankton, SD.
