It is with sorrow and gratitude that we mark the passing of Loretta Ensz, 86, — sorrow at the loss, gratitude for the life.

The chapters of her life were many; these are some of them.

The story begins in 1933, with the arrival of a life that would be cherished by many.

A life of many years is a life of many gifts to those who knew it.

Loretta Ensz, 86, of Marion died August 2, 2019 after a short stay at the Tieszen Memorial Home in Marion. Loretta was born on April 7, 1933 to Henry and Violet (Cameron) Miller of Bridgewater, SD. Loretta was united in marriage to Lester Ensz on December 23, 1951. To this union seven children were born – Deborah, Julie, Daryl, Ronald, Terry, Tim and Arlan. They began farming in 1951 in the Marion area where they both enjoyed the "love of the land". They both lived on the farm until Loretta became ill and moved into the Tieszen Memorial Home in June 2019. Loretta was an active member of the Bethesda Church. She enjoyed teaching Sunday School and being a member of the Christ's Coworkers. She was a Prayer Warrior and prayed for her children, grandchildren and whoever else needed God's grace. She loved spending time with family and friends. Loretta enjoyed her "refunding group" friends and was known as Granny Lo. She will always be remembered for her quick wit and sense of humor, always looking at the positive sides of life. Loretta had a beautiful smile and shared it often. Those preceding her in death are her mother and father, her two brothers, her two sisters and a son-in-law. She leaves behind her husband of 67 years, Lester Ensz and children, Deborah Noess, Julie (Douglas) Decker, Daryl (Roxane) Ensz, Ronald (Paula) Ensz, Terry (Roxane) Ensz, Tim (Laurie) Ensz, Arlan (Lisa) Ensz., many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Visitation is scheduled from 5:00 to 7:00 Monday evening, August 5, 2019, at the Hofmeister- Jones Funeral Home in Marion, SD. A short prayer service is scheduled at 7:00. Funeral services will be at the Bethesda Church, rural Marion, at 10:30 Tuesday morning, August 6, 2019.
