Born in 1961, Ron began a life that would touch many along the way.

Parenthood is the slow work of love. Ron did it well.

Ron Heiter, 56 of Freeman died Monday, November 20. 2017 in a semi-truck accident north of Marion, SD. A Gathering will be from 2-4pm Saturday, November 25, 2017 at the Hofmeister Jones Funeral Home in Parker. Ronald Eugene Heiter was born on September 22, 1961 at Mitchell, SD to Vernon and Elaine (Gossel) Heiter. He lived with his family near Parker before moving to Kaylor, SD where he graduated from Scotland High School in 1979. After high school he served in the SD Army National Guard. On July 2, 1993 he was united in marriage to Tami Shadbolt at Alexandria, SD. They lived in Emery before moving to Freeman. He was a partner in Heiter Trucking and for the last few years drove for Stern Oil Co. Grateful for having shared his life are his wife Tami; 2 children Laura Reynolds (fiancée Russell Covey), Freeman and Adrien Heiter(fiancée Kellie Winckler), Emery; 3 grandchildren Austin, Skyler, and Kayleigh; his mother Elaine Heiter, Emery; a brother Ralph Heiter, Emery; a sister Linda Bassett, Emery; and a nephew Cody Bassett, Emery. He was preceded in death by his father and a sister and brother in infancy.
