Larry held deeply to the Lutheran faith — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew him best.

A life of belief is a life of quiet conversation with something larger.

Larry Larsen, 78 of Viborg, passed away on August 28, 2025 at the Avera Sacred Heart Hospital, Yankton. Funeral Service will be at 10:30 Saturday, September 6, 2025 at the Spring Valley Lutheran Church, Viborg. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 PM Friday, September 5, at the church with a prayer service beginning at 7:00 PM. Arrangements provided by Hofmeister-Jones Funeral Home.Larry was born April 20, 1947 to Lewis and Evelyn Larsen. On November 25, 1995 he married Victoria Kollars at the Spring Valley Lutheran Church, outside of Viborg.As a young man he was a hardworking farmer who dedicated his life to the animals and the land. He served with the Army in the Vietnam War from September 27, 1966 - July 1, 1968. He then moved back to the Center Point area and was awarded Most Outstanding Young Farmer.His pride and joy was traveling, dancing, fishing, and camping with his wife Victoria. They enjoyed many years making new friends in Texas, where Larry was the captain of the Table Tennis team. He also loved spending hours with his sons, stepchildren, and grandchildren laughing and giggling playing golf and other card games. Larry was the social king who was constantly cracking jokes.Those who cherish his loving memory are his wife Victoria, two sons Arron (Jen) of Kansas City, KS and Shannon (Laine) of Tea, SD, stepchildren, Jill (Denton), DeAnna, David, Sara (Tom), grandchildren, Emma, Samuel, Halee (Nolan), Hope, Peyton, Gage, Alena, Avery and Easton, brothers, Gene (Kathy) Larsen, Palmer (Kimberly) Larsen, Norman Larsen, and sister-in-law Barb Larsen.He is proceeded in death by his parents, infant grandson Gus, in-laws, and brothers Wally and Gregg.
