Lois held deeply to the Lutheran faith — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew her best.

Lois F. Viet, 94 died February 27, 2015 at Pathstone Assisted Living at Mankato, MN. Memorial services will be at 2:00pm Sunday, June 28, 2015 at Hofmeister Jones Funeral Home, Parker, SD with burial at Rosehill Cemetery, Parker. Lois Frances Janssen was born on August 20, 1920 at Hull, Iowa to Naso and Hattie Janssen. She grew up in Iowa and graduated from Boyden High School in Boyden, Iowa in 1937. On April 27, 1941 she was united in marriage to Harvey Viet at Hull, Iowa. They couple made their home in Minneapolis, MN and moved to Mankato, MN in January of 2014. Lois enjoyed knitting, golfing, playing bridge, volunteering at Mt. Olivet church and traveling. In 1982 Harvey and Lois retired and spent over twenty years living in Mesa, Arizona during the winter months. Lois was a member of Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church in Minneapolis. Grateful for having shared her life are her loving husband of 74 years Harvey, Mankato, MN; a daughter Pat (Steve) Davis; son in law Gene Moody; 4 grandchildren, Jeff (April) Moody, Stephenie (Adam) Jochum, Leslie (Rob) Dorrell, and Steve (Kristine) Davis; John Stark (Terry Moody Stark); 7 great grandchildren Sara, Erik, Jack, Teagan, Robin, Morgan and Brady; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family. She was preceded in death by her daughter Pam Moody, granddaughter Terry Moody Stark, and sibling Orva and her parents.
