Peter H. Begeman, 91 of Parker died Sunday, Sept 11, 2016 at Pioneer Memorial, Viborg. Funeral services will be at 1:30pm Thursday, Sept 15, 2016 at Calvary Reformed Church, Monroe. Visitation with family present will be from 5-7pm Wednesday evening with a Prayer Service at 7:00pm at the church. Arrangements by Hofmeister Jones Funeral Home. Peter Hoekman Begeman was born on September 22, 1924 at Parker, SD to Chris and Anna (Hoekman) Begeman. He grew up in the Parker area where he attended country school before serving in the US Army during WW II. After his discharge from the service he was united in marriage to Gladys Rogers on June 8, 1947 at Parker. They farmed in the Parker area. He was a lifetime member of Calvary Reformed Church, VFW, Par Mar Country Club, and Parker Senior Citizens Pool League. They enjoyed spending their winters in Apache Junction, Arizona. Grateful for having shared his life are 8 children, Harlan (Jo), Spearfish, SD, Gerald (Sandra), Murfreesboro, TN, William (Bonnie), Norfolk, NE, Judy Netten, Rock Rapids, IA, Doris (Eugene) Hubbard, Oak Grove, MO, Patricia (Donald Ginder) Plucker, Sioux Falls, Peter (Dianna), Parker, and Vicky (Doug) VanHouten, Stanton, NE; 24 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren; and a sister Martha Jean Hietbrink, Munster, IL. He was preceded in death by his wife Gladys in 2010, a daugher Karen Koenders, a granddaughter Bethany Ward, a great granddaugher Makayla Joy Smith, 4 brothers Chris, Fred, Anthon, and John, and 2 sisters Cordene and Marie. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Calvary Reformed Church.
