After a life of love and quiet grace, Raymond W. Reiffenberger, 82, has passed.

Here is the shape of a life remembered with love.

Raymond entered this world in 1932 — the start of a journey that would span 82 years.

Raymond held deeply to the Catholic faith — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew him best.

Those who live by belief leave a different kind of mark.

Raymond W. Reiffenberger, 82 died Thursday, March 27, 2014 at Bethesda Nursing Home, Beresford. Funeral mass will be at 10:30am Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at Christ the King Catholic Church, Sioux Falls with burial with military honors at Woodlawn Cemetery, Sioux Falls. Visitation with family present will begin at 5:00pm Monday at Heritage Funeral Home, Sioux Falls with a Scripture Service followed by the Rosary at 7:00pm Monday evening. Raymond William Reiffenberger was born on January 12, 1932 at Adrian, MN to Lawrence and Clara (Lewis) Reiffenberger. He attended school at Rosen, MN before serving in the US Army from 1952-1954 in Germany. After his discharge from the service he was united in marriage to Cecilia Karels on May 10, 1955 at Rosen, MN. They lived at Watertown where he was employed at Swift and Company and Park Grant for 16 years. In 1970 they moved to Sioux Falls where he was employed with Nash Finch for 25 years until his retirement. He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church and a life member of the VFW Post 628. His family was very important to him as he enjoyed spending time with his family, and enjoyed gardening, bowling, and playing cards and pool. Grateful for having shared his life are his wife Cecilia; 6 sons, Ray(Joni), Sioux Falls, Tim (Dona), Sioux Falls, John, Sturgis, Dan (Sarah), Watertown, Don (Michele), Parker, and Rich (Jeanne), Albuquerque, NM; a daughter, Mary (Chris) Andresen, Sioux Falls; 13 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; and a sister Irene Stolpman, Mpls, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents and 9 brothers and sisters. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Active Generations Center in Sioux Falls or the Bethesda of Beresford.
