After a life of love and quiet grace, Bernice "B" Waddle, 99, has passed.

What follows is not the whole story, but a thread of it.

The story begins in 1915, with the arrival of a life that would be cherished by many.

Bernice held deeply to the Lutheran faith — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew her best.

Some find their compass in faith. Bernice was among them.

Bernice M. Waddle Bernice "B" Waddle, of Tyler, MN, age 99 years, 11 months, and 12 days died on March 23, 2015 at the Tieszen Memorial Home, Marion, SD having moved there in August of 2008 to be near her daughter. Memorial services will be at 2:00pm Saturday, June 20, 2015 at First English Lutheran Church, Tyler, MN. Bernice Muriel Waddle was born on April 11, 1915 at Tyler, MN to Andrew and Dorthea (Svendsen) Lange. "B" attended grade school and high school in Tyler until the death of her father at which time she became employed at Stork Produce. On February 5, 1936 she was united in marriage to Raymond L. Waddle at First English Lutheran Church in Tyler, and after their marriage they farmed in Marshfield Township and she became a helpful farm wife. They had two children, Deanna and Randall (Randy). She was also employed at the Chat-N-Chew Cafe and later at Vadheim/Koster Pharmacy for 30 years. They retired into Tyler and her husband Ray died in 1992. She was a member of First English Lutheran Church, her parents being charter members and she was the first child baptized in the congregation on May 30, 1915. She was a member of WELCA and Royal Neighbors of America. "B" enjoyed dancing, needlework, baking cookies, flowers, pets, league bowling, bingo, her goldfish and lily pond and being with friends and family serving coffee and cookies. Grateful for having shared her life are her daughter Deanna Zimmer, Parker, SD, her son Randy (Melva) Waddle, Tolleson, AZ; 3 grandchildren Scott (Michelle) Waddle, Avondale, AZ, Tom (Shannon) Waddle, Avondale, AZ, and Kristen (Kim) Rudi, Osceola, WI; 8 great grandchildren, Brianna, Brooke, Ashley, Allyson, Amanda, Jake, Matthew, and Madison; and her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ray, son in law John Zimmer and special friend Harold Jorgensen. In lieu of flowers memorials maybe directed to the First English Lutheran Church, Relay for Life of Lincoln County, MN, or a charity of your choice.
