Calvin Brooks Hall, age 72, of Dell Rapids, SD, passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at the Dells Nursing and Rehab Center. Funeral Service will be at 1:00 PM Saturday, April 18, 2026 at Hofmeister-Jones Funeral Home, Parker. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 PM Friday, April 17, 2026 at the funeral home. The service will be broadcasted on his obituary page. Arrangements provided by Hofmeister-Jones Funeral Home.Calvin was born on April 21, 1953, to Willoughby and Alma (Hansen) Hall, in Yankton, SD. Calvin grew up in Wakonda, S.D. on a farm. He attended 1st and 2nd grade at Wakonda Elementary and then attended Special Education in Vermillion, S.D. He lived with his mom and dad and enjoyed helping with farming. Calvin moved to Colton Assisted Living after his parents passed away and then to Dells Nursing Home and Rehab in 2020.Calvin enjoyed telling his stories to his many friends, doing crafts, crocheting, putting together puzzles, word find books, coloring and playing bingo. Most of all he enjoyed dressing and playing Santa at the Dells Nursing Home.Calvin is survived by his sisters: Charlene Hopf of Sioux Falls, SD and Jolene Wolf of Vermillion, SD; his brothers: Marvin (Cheryl) Hall of Centerville, SD and Steven Hall of Greenfield, IA; many nieces and nephews; many cousins and friends.He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and brother Edwin.
