Elaine Haines, 88, has gone home, leaving behind a circle of those who loved her.

Below, the simplest tribute: the truth of a life as it was lived.

Elaine's story began in 1927, and unfolded across the years that followed.

Elaine spent her working life as ['plumber'] and held deeply to the Methodist faith — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew her best.

Belief, when lived, becomes a kind of inheritance.
