Rich Wentzel, 52 of Marion, passed away on August 1, 2025. Funeral Service will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, August 9, 2025 at Hofmeister-Jones Funeral Home, Parker, with burial to follow at the Greenwood Cemetery, Marion. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 PM Friday, August 8, at the Funeral Home with a Prayer Service beginning at 7:00 PM. Arrangements provided by Hofmeister-Jones Funeral Home.Richard Lee Wentzel of Marion, SD passed away at his home on August 1, 2025. Richard was born on October 13, 1972 to Hannelore and Ronald Wentzel from Marion, SD. He attended and graduated from Marion High School and finished one year in a technical College in Iowa. He grew up in the First Church of God in Marion and was baptized there at the age of 13. Richard spent his time working for Agan Drywall, later changed to FBM, in Sioux Falls. When he wasn't working, he loved fishing and hunting until his dad passed, later he like to relax, watching tv and taking care of the farmstead. He lived with his mother Honey and his nephew Tristen and loved spending time with his nieces and nephews.Rich is survived by his mother Honey Wentzel, brother Matthew (Rita) Wentzel, sister Tracy Wentzel, nephews Tristen and Dillion, and nieces Alexis, Mercedes, and Lillian Wentzel. He was preceded in death by his brother Rodney, father Ronald, grandparents Edna and Hank Wentzel and Elizabeth Anghileri, uncles Roy and Rocky Wentzel, and his aunt Diane Wentzel.
